The Friends of the NC Oyster Trail was established in 2023 to support and maintain the NC Oyster Trail’s work and mission. Individuals, businesses and organizations that are interested in supporting the NC Oyster Trail (but aren’t a trail destination themselves) are invited to make a tax-deductible donation to help sustain and grow the Trail by becoming a Friend of the NC Oyster Trail.

As a Friend of the NC Oyster Trail you are supporting local, family-owned and small businesses that grow, educate about and serve oysters.

A Friend of the NC Oyster Trail designation is perfect for a local Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Bureau, Town, County, Main Street Community or an individual that values local oyster-based tourism businesses.

The NC Oyster Trail boasts over 75 trail destinations from the coast to the mountains. Trail experiences include everything from touring a local oyster farm, to eating NC oysters to learning about or restoring NC oysters along the coast. The mission of the NC Oyster Trail is to provide experiences that help sustain and grow N.C. oysters, resulting in economic, environmental and social benefits to the state’s seafood industry and coastal communities.
